Il Re is our blend of two Italian varieties from the Piemonte region, specifically Nebbiolo and Barbera. It is a dark colored wine that combines the black cherry, rose, acidity and tannin of the Nebbiolo with the darker fruit and creaminess of the Barbera.
Americans think all Italian red wines are matches for red sauce and pasta, but Italians enjoy wines like Il Re with roasted meat and game.

Library wines are older vintages of our wines that have been held in the winery for observation, testing and quality control. The wines can be from 6 to 14 years old and have aged in the bottle while stored. Not everyone enjoys drinking wines this old. Generally as wines age they lose some of their fruit and color, develop a reddish brown tinge and have stronger flavors. We offer these wines only to our wine club members who would like to try these older vintages.
These library wines have a retail price of $55.00 which equals $44.00 or $41.25, after your wine club discount. Because there is a very limited supply of these wines, we limit the amount that can be purchased at one time.
